It is with deep regret that the Portuguese Society of Neurosurgery (SPNC) informs us of the death of Dr. Fernando Gomes, who was director of the Neurosurgery service at the Coimbra University Hospitals.

He was president of the Portuguese Society of Neurosurgery in 2000-2001.

The Portuguese Society of Neurosurgery recognizes and appreciates his contribution to Portuguese neurosurgery and expresses its sympathy to his family and friends.
